Premium is not a different material, it is a different amount of labour. These are the designs with the deepest filigree, the most stones, and the densest pearl work - the oxidised chandbali with its pierced crescent and twin peacocks, and the gold-plated temple jhumka with a repousse dome worked all the way round and a lattice rim.

Both are built for the days you end up in the photographs: sangeet, reception, a wedding where you are in the front row. Both are also hollow through the widest part, so the scale is in how they look rather than how they feel after four hours.

How they're made

  • Finished by hand

    Every pair is finished in either oxidised silver or gold plating. No two oxidised pieces darken identically.

  • Stones set one at a time

    Cat's-eye glass cabochons, kundan-style stones and pearl fringes are bezel-set and strung by hand, not pressed into a mould.

  • Less metal than it looks

    The domes are hollow and the crescents pierced, so a pair carries far less weight on the earlobe than its size suggests.

  • Keeping it that way

    Oxidised and plated finishes need a little care to stay bright. Perfume and water are the two things to keep away.
